Original publication: 2025-01-15. English edition and practical reading notes: Linglong editorial, 18 October 2026. Chinese original.

This annual retrospective was originally published on 15 January 2025. It describes the Linyaps community’s work during 2024 as an OpenAtom Foundation incubation project. The source record was modified on 14 May 2025 and includes a notice of version 1.7.5 dated 17 January 2025. The original publication, later source update and release date are separate dates.

Application ecosystem and contributors

The report listed deepin, UOS, openEuler, Ubuntu, Debian, openKylin and Anolis OS as supported systems, and x86, ARM and loong64 as processor families. It reported more than 3,000 adapted applications listed in the store by the end of 2024. These are the annual report’s historical figures, not the current catalog snapshot.

It described a standalone web and desktop store and a Linyaps section in the deepin 23 system store. Its contributor-organization section included the organizations shown in the original images.

Versions and tools

  • 1.5, June: offline UAB execution, UAB build support, DEB-to-UAB conversion with ll-pica, and AppImage-to-UAB conversion.
  • 1.6, August: loong64 support, USB-directory/file access, offline UAB building, AppImage conversion, layer/icon and app-ID checking tools and guidance, and an OBS build platform.
  • 1.7.5: the retained source lists Flatpak conversion in ll-pica; module refactoring; some directory-permission support; install/uninstall/update adjustments; permission control on some D-Bus package-management methods; repository-storage restructuring; partial Chinese/English/Spanish command-help translation; repository and build-cache cleanup; changed repository commands; and listing upgradable packages. Its 17 January release notice appears in the later-updated source.

The tool-suite section highlighted ll-pica for DEB/AppImage/Flatpak conversion, Electron Wrapper Next for wrapping web applications, and Next Linyaps Testing Toolchains, a shell-script application testing workflow. The report’s efficiency and quality statements are its assessment, not new test results here.

Four SIG workstreams

  • Generic-Linux: adaptations beyond deepin, including work on Ubuntu and GNOME/KDE/Xfce environments.
  • Simple Store: the web and desktop stores, with Chinese/English switching.
  • Packaging: builds submitted through the SIG’s OBS platform or the UnionTech developer platform; the report credited SIG members with more than 2,000 listed applications.
  • BabitMF: work to bring the BMF multimedia framework into the Linyaps ecosystem.

Community participation at year end

The report stated that 28 individual developers and four corporate member organizations had formally joined by the end of December, with over 50 core contributors active across platforms and more than 600 active community members. Its GitHub contribution illustrations were explicitly dated 31 December 2024 and referred to the main project.

Infrastructure

The community and its new website were introduced in July, bringing project information, contribution processes, SIGs, developer services and news together with store access. In October, the Simple Store SIG’s store launched with 19 categories covering work, learning and entertainment. The UnionTech developer platform also added Linyaps distribution and adaptation support.

The 2024 event record

  • 23 May–30 June: an application migration/build event; the report counted 35 participants and over 2,000 submitted applications.
  • 26 September–26 November: an OpenAtom competition’s developer-tool/application challenge, with a stated ¥400,000 prize pool, 172 teams and 16 winning teams.
  • 23 August–12 September: introductory application-building livestreams with demonstrations across distributions.
  • 16 November: the Tianjin Sino-German university meetup, reported as attracting over 150 students, over 2,000 livestream viewers and later 115 application submissions by 35 developers.
  • 25–27 September: the OpenAtom open-source ecosystem conference, including a community-building talk and an active-contribution award for the training program.
  • 20–21 December: the OpenAtom developer/academic conference in Wuhan; the report recorded a course-partnership recognition.
  • 15–16 August: GOGC 2024, with project demonstrations and discussion.
  • 24–26 October: the China International Software Expo.
  • 13 July: the Shanghai deepin Meetup, where the Linyaps name and OpenAtom incubation status were announced, alongside technical and packaging talks.
  • 15–16 November: the operating-system conference/openEuler Summit.

All participation, award and submission counts above belong to the annual report; they are not independently re-measured or presented as current opportunities.

The closing project description emphasized isolation, fewer dependency conflicts, reduced packaging repetition and a safer application ecosystem as project goals. Its community address at the time was linglong.space, followed by contact artwork. Current project routes should be checked separately.

Keep a dated evidence ledger

An annual report is useful when each number keeps its period and definition. For example, “over 3,000 adapted applications by the end of 2024” cannot be compared directly with a later repository’s count of unique stable/x86_64 IDs without checking scope.
