Preparation
Before doing the conversion, you will need the following websites and apps:
- svg conversion png tool
- Image cropping tool
- flathub
- Linyaps package usage documentation
- Latest version of Linyaps (as of 2025.9.6, the latest version is 1.9.9)
- Automated testing tools provided by operations
If you are planning to participate in the 2025 first issue of the "Linyaps Application Migration and Development Recruitment Contest" held by the forum, please register a UnionTech developer account first for subsequent submissions.
In order to convert Linyaps application packages more intuitively, it is recommended to place the folders in the same directory.
Start conversion
Automatic conversion
The conversion application will use the following folders:
- A folder used to store conversion applications, for example
/home/<userid>/Documents/linglong - Place the "layer" file of the Linyaps application installation package that needs to be checked for compatibility into any non-ntfs directory with read permissions. Examples such as
/home/<userid>/Documents/ll_origin - Create two directories with read and write permissions in any non-ntfs directory with read and write permissions to place the organized Linyaps application installation package "layer" files and application icons. Examples such as
/home/<userid>/Documents/ll_pool``/home/<userid>/Documents/ll_res
Next, you should find the software package you want to convert in flathub and copy its flatpakID, and fill it in the ll-pica-flatpak convert command. I use the ID of PDFedit here:
(25425) ./apps/ll-builder/src/main.cpp:338 Layer export completed successfully.
If the conversion is successful, the terminal output: (25425) ./apps/ll-builder/src/main.cpp:338 Layer export completed successfully.
After the conversion is completed, a corresponding folder will appear in the directory where the terminal is located. The folder name is the converted faltpakID, such as: net.sourceforge.Pdfedit
Enter the conversion folder of the corresponding application, there will be two packages in it: net.sourceforge.Pdfedit_1.0.0.0_x86_64_binary.layer and net.sourceforge.Pdfedit_1.0.0.0_x86_64_develop.layer
Our final delivery is the Linyaps package with binary suffix. Here we put the converted file into ll_origin folder, then open the terminal in the directory where the test tool is located, and enter the command ./linyaps-auto-optimize.sh /home/<userid>/Documents/ll_origin /home/<userid>/Documents/ll_pool , at this time the automated testing tool will
The application packages in ll_origin are organized and stored in ll_pool folder.
Perform the installation operation after finishing ./linyaps-auto-install.sh /home/<userid>/Documents/ll_pool
Perform test operations after installation is complete ./linyaps-auto-testing.sh /home/<userid>/Documents/ll_res
During testing, all windows should be closed and the terminal should be minimized to avoid interference with the test results.
Manual conversion
Since as of 2025.9.6, the Linyaps environment still does not have gnome48.0, there will be a problem that the results cannot be generated when packaging some gnome flatpak. We can solve this problem by manually compiling, but please note that this method is only suitable for simple gnome applications. For more complex gnome applications, the packages generated by this method may not run normally.
First enter the corresponding application folder, delete the linglong folder, and then modify the linglong.yaml file, modify the base: , change the version number behind gnome from 48 to 47. Next, open the terminal in the folder and enter ll-builder build , input after compilation is completed ll-builder export --layer Export the layer package, and then test it according to the normal testing process.
Special note: This method does not guarantee 100% success. Therefore, if the manually converted application cannot start normally, you can consider manually adding dependencies or waiting for the Linyaps environment to be updated before converting.
Submit the application
So now you have completed the conversion of flatpak application to Linyaps application and can start delivering the application.
You need to prepare the following materials for delivery:
- Three application screenshots (size optional: 1050×700 or 1920×1280)
- A translation software for translating the English introduction of an application.
- A software icon for the application to be delivered, usually found in
ll_resObtained from the folder. If the icon in the folder is an svg image, you can use the conversion website or other tools given at the beginning of this article to convert it and then submit it.
In order to ensure that the application you submit can pass the review in one go, you should pay attention to the following matters when submitting:
- Check all listed regions
- The default language is Chinese (simplified), and the introduction must be written in both Chinese and English.
- A long enough application introduction, about 100 words or more.
- Check all three options in the application's system version management (V23 Community Edition, V25 Community Edition, V25 Professional Edition).
- Do not rely entirely on automatic test suites. Automatic test suites are not necessarily completely accurate, and sometimes the test results may not match the actual running results.
If all materials have been filled in, it can be submitted for review. If you have any other questions about converting apps, feel free to ask them in the comment area.
