4. Community Development

  • Improve SIG group participation guide
    • SIG creation and participation guides have been officially released in the Linyaps community (www.linglong.space) and the OpenAtom-Linyaps repository (GitHub/OpenAtom-Linyaps/SIG), detailing the process of participating in existing SIG groups and creating new SIG groups.
    • Linyaps community official website has launched the signing process of "[Linyaps] Project Individual Contributor License Agreement" to legally protect the rights and interests of the project and users. As of the end of August, 17 contributors have submitted personal CLA signing applications.
  • Create Linyaps Packaging SIG
    • Linyaps Packaging SIG The Linyaps ecosystem collaboration group was formally established. The group is committed to building Linyaps format applications, and continues to optimize the software construction and distribution process to promote the development of the Linux ecosystem. Contributors can apply to become a contributor to the application at GitHub/OpenAtom-Linyaps/sig-linyaps-packing-sig;
    • The group SIG repository provides an automated building platform (OBS). After submitting the merge (PR) application configuration file, the construction of the Linyaps application will be automatically completed, and the built Linyaps application will be automatically pushed to the Linyaps application repository. The submitter will simultaneously become the official maintainer of the software.
  • Join forces with the Linyaps community to create Linyaps SIG
    • Linyaps, as one of the contributors to the Dragon Lizard community, officially established the Linyaps SIG in the Dragon Lizard community this month, dedicated to providing and maintaining the Linyaps package management tool set on Anolis OS. The Linyaps main program has completed the compatible adaptation of OpenAnolis 23.2 and is waiting for the official release and merger of the project.
  • Linyaps App Store Independent development Group
    • The team is composed of contributor Jokul and his team. It focuses on contributing independent application store projects to the Linyaps community, including a web version of the application store and a simple application store client. The project will effectively improve the efficiency of Linyaps application distribution and assist the development of the Linyaps ecosystem.
    • The web app store version is under iterative development and will be officially launched on the Linyaps community official website in September.
    • The simple application store client is independently developed and operated by Jokul, the core contributor of the team. It has synchronized support for all official releases of Linyaps compatible adaptation, and is being continuously iteratively updated.

5. Activity Overview

  • School Source Line Live class : From August 22 to September 12, the Linyaps community will hold a live broadcast of "Introduction to Linyaps Application Construction" every Thursday. The course is one of the OpenAtom Foundation's "Xiaoyuanxing Open Source Technology Training Series Special Courses" and is fully supported by the deepin community. It systematically introduces how to build different Linux distributions (respectively deepin 23, openEuler 2403LTS, openKylin 2.0rc and Ubuntu 2404), and through the demonstration of specific construction cases, the Linyaps application construction process is explained in detail, and the application installation and debugging methods are demonstrated.

There are 4 courses in total, and 2 live broadcast courses have been successfully carried out in August. The lecture notes and video review materials of the live courses have been synchronized across the entire platform.

About the project

OpenAtom Linyaps is a new independent package management toolset that focuses on solving compatibility issues caused by the complexity and cross-dependencies of traditional software package formats under Linux systems. The project uses advanced isolation technology to completely decouple applications and systems, fundamentally solve application compatibility issues caused by environmental changes, and achieve "one architecture, one build". It is committed to simplifying the software development process, reducing maintenance costs, strengthening data security, promoting collaboration between technology and platforms, and building a more prosperous, secure and efficient Linux software ecological environment.
