Recently, the Open Atom Open Source Competition concluded successfully in Wuxi, Jiangsu. As the focus track, the OpenAtom Foundation competition organized by UnionTech Software Linyaps track attracted more than 100 participating teams from around the world, demonstrating the vitality and enthusiasm of the open source community.
In the past, Linux-based operating system distributions had the problem of incompatibility or inability to maintain continuous compatibility between operating system versions and different distributions, which caused great trouble to users in actual use.

At the same time, compatibility issues caused by strong coupling between software packages and operating systems, security issues caused by loose permissions, and stability issues caused by unclassified storage of system and application directories also bring different troubles to users.
Linyaps
As a new type of independent package management toolset, Linyaps mainly provides a layered and isolated operating environment to solve the compatibility issues caused by the strong dependence of traditional package management systems and the security issues caused by loose permissions. Currently, Linyaps supports 4 distributions, including deepin, UnionTech UOS, Debian and Ubuntu.
The application and promotion of Linyaps package also plays an important role in promoting the development of my country's computer software ecology and operating systems:
- In 2021, the Linyaps project was established; after more than a year of continuous research and development and polishing, the Linyaps project has begun to take shape.
- In 2022, we will donate the Linyaps project to the Open Atom Foundation for incubation, which is a very important milestone. After the donation, the Linyaps project received wider attention and support, and also contributed to the development of the open source community.
- In 2023, we will integrate Linyaps into the deepinV23 system for release. This is an exciting time for Linyaps as it grows and stabilizes.
Competition results
In the final road show, participating teams from different fields demonstrated their innovative results and technical capabilities, bringing a wonderful display to the audience and judges.
After fierce competition, the CCB Jianyuan Team from China Construction Bank and the Moyu Team from Hubei University stood out and won the first prize in this competition with their outstanding innovation and technical strength.
The two teams demonstrated outstanding technical strength and innovation capabilities in the Linyaps competition. They completed the migration of Linyaps based on OpenKylin and Arch Linux, indicating that Linyaps has cross-distribution compatibility and can achieve ecological parallel compatibility on different operating systems.
China Construction Bank Team fully elaborated and demonstrated the openness of Linyaps technology, and its recognition and expectations for the future Chinese operating system ecosystem; Hubei University Representative Team allows us to see the new force of open source in China and the trend and desire of Chinese open source projects to integrate with the international community.
Through the competition process and results, we can see that Linyaps will have broader application prospects in the future, and can promote the unification of the technology ecosystem in various commercial and open source distributions, and play a more important role. As a co-organizer of the Linyaps competition in the Open Atomic Open Source Competition, UnionTech Software has made positive contributions to promoting the development of the Linyaps project. In order to recognize the support and contribution of UnionTech Software to the Open Atom Open Source Competition, the Open Atom Foundation specially awarded the "Outstanding Co-Contributor" award to recognize and commend UnionTech Software for its efforts in promoting the open source cause.
Linyaps ecological development
So far, Linyaps supports multiple open source distributions, supports more than 1,300 applications, and the number of application downloads has exceeded 40W, which fully reflects the importance and influence of Linyaps on the compatibility, security, and stability of software + OS.
